Organizing my craft room has been a labor of love. I’ve spent the last eight months planning, researching, and reorganizing, adding piece by piece to create my dream craft room, that is functional and designed for a small space.

I needed a setup that could store all my machines while still being functional and stylish. A lot of crafters have a dedicated room or workspace to keep their lasers and other machines spread out on tabletops. I don’t have a separate craft room. Instead, I’ve dedicated a corner of a multifunctional room in our home. The space is divided into three areas: my craft and desk area in one corner, a gaming area in the middle, and a homeschool space in the other corner so maximizing storage and keeping everything organized is a must.

I used these IKEA cabinets to store my craft machines, and they completely transformed my small space into something much more functional and efficient. I chose drawer units so I can easily pull my machines out and use them right where they’re stored, so no heavy lifting or rearranging required. Drawers can hold up to 55 lbs (depending on the size), making them a great option for heavier machines too.

I added tabletops to each cabinet and customized them to fit my workflow. One tabletop is longer, giving me extra room to craft and spread out projects, while the other is more compact to support larger machine setups. That’s what I love about IKEA everything is customizable, so you can truly design it around your space, your machines, and how you create.

You can’t see it, but I also have two fume extractors for my lasers positioned on the side and connected so they’re always ready to use. They fit perfectly between the cabinet and the ALEX drawer, keeping everything seamless and tucked away. I’m working on a video to show you exactly how I set it up and the supplies I used to make it functional.
