IKEA is my go to store for organization and makeovers. Organizing my craft room has been a labor of love. I spent eight months planning, researching, and reorganizing every piece to create my dream craftroom. I needed a setup that could store all my machines while keeping them accessible for use. Many crafters have a dedicated room or workspace to keep their lasers and other machines spread out on tabletops. However, I don’t have a dedicated craftroom or a large workspace to do that.
Instead, I have dedicated a corner of a multifunctional room in our home. The room is divided into three areas: my craft and desk area, a gaming area, and a homeschool area. For reference, my craft & desk area is 9 x 8 feet. So, maximizing this space with optimal storage to keep everything organized and functional was a must.
IKEA helped me completely transform my limited space into something much more functional and efficient. I chose drawer units so I can easily pull my machines out and use them right where they’re stored. So, no heavy lifting or moving machines in order to use them. Drawers can hold up to 55 lbs (depending on the size), making them a great option for heavier machines too.
I have two setups that run parallel to each other. One side is dedicated to my DTF and computer desk, and the other to my laser and crafting zone.

I customized each side with different size tabletops to fit my specific needs. For my laser setup, I used a 78 3/4-inch tabletop, which gives me extra room to sit down and craft on one side. While also having enough space to bring in smaller machines, like my hat heat press, or to create content.
On the DTF side, I installed two 55-inch tabletops. This gave me enough space to comfortably fit my DTF machine while still having a functional desk area for my computer and daily tasks. That’s what I love about IKEA! Everything is customizable, so you can truly design it to fit your space, your machines, and your workflow.

You can’t see it, but I have two fume extractors connected to my lasers. They fit perfectly between the cabinet and the ALEX drawer, keeping everything seamless and tucked away. I’m working on a video to show you exactly how I set it up and the supplies I used to make it ready to use.
